I want to start immediately off by saying each and every one of you have worth. You are valuable in many ways especially to God. No matter what trial you are facing, take note of this and keep it in the back of your mind at all times. God does not care how much money you are making, what clothes you are wearing, who you owe, or how wrong you have been. God loves you and understands you for who you are. God has you here for a reason and a purpose. Do not allow the world to bring you down. Do not allow others to make you feel worthless. Every living being on this Earth has value or they would not be here.

Feelings of worthlessness

Sometimes things do not go as we expect. There are some days when you feel like you are being attacked at every angle. Conversations can turn into arguments when you least expect it. Jobs can be lost when you had no idea it was coming. People can blow up at you for driving the wrong way or saying something that offends them. Family and friends can turn their backs on you when you need them the most. Doors can be shut and opportunities you thought you had can close down. All of these things and more can lead us down a path of self defeat and feelings of worthlessness.

It seems worthlessness has been my friend for far too long. It seems every turn I make has a road block. However, I know these trials can only last for so long. Something will happen that will bring us out of the pit of despair. Keep in mind, all of these things are momentary. God has a plan, a door will be open and waiting for you when the time is right. It is hard to have patience and faith in these desperate and trying times. Never give up. Your opening may come in minutes or it may take days or weeks. Do not interfere with God’s plans. Allow Him to do His work. Believe me, it is easier said than done. As with anything we have a choice. We can choose to let God do His work and trust and have faith in His plans or we can try taking it up on our own. Most of the time when we choose do things ourselves, it leads to disaster. Keep in mind, faith and trust are not feelings. Do not seek feelings during these trials. These are decisions you make. You will decide you are going to let it go and leave it to God.

The reality of it all

A lot of times feelings of worthlessness stems from lack of money. People will make a joke about your clothes, they will laugh at your car, or bill companies will harass you. You may feel worthless because you can afford the big house or the nice vacations. Sometimes these problems can be resolved by finding a second income. Other times, it just is what it is. Either way, do not let others make you feel worthless. As long as you are doing all you can, be proud of who you are. Keep in mind, Jesus never chose wealthy kings to follow him. They were tax collectors, fisherman, and common man. Jesus helped the poor, healed the wounded, and provided for the hungry. Jesus will help you. He promises us that He will provide our needs.

A lot of times we feel worthless because of something we did. This means we need to correct ourselves in order to feel better. Perhaps you did someone dirty or you reacted in a way you should not have. Perhaps you chose a wrong path. All of this can be forgiven and changed with the grace of God. Pray about your problem and ask God for guidance. Make a vow to change. Apologize or do what you need to do to remove as much of this feeling as possible.

One thing we all need to understand is reliance on man for anything opens a door for defeat. Understand humans are humans and they will say and do things that can be hurtful. We have bailed and said things we regret as well. People may not be available when you need them the most. We are all human and we make errors. Spend less time depending on man for answers and spend more time in prayer. Read God’s word and put your faith in God.

Another thing we need to understand is things are better left between you and God. Opening up to others can cause issues at times. Your deepest, darkest, issues should be kept between you, God, and those involved. Talk to God and depend on His comfort. He is always there. There is no specific way to come to God. You can be angry, wounded, crying, desperate, and so on. God wants to hear from you and He will help you. He does not tell your secrets or gossip. He shows nothing but love.

God created you and loves you far more than any human on the face of this Earth loves you.  You do not necessarily have to feel God’s love. Know it is there, accept it, and wait for God’s answers.  They will come in His timing, not yours. I have always said that God is last minute with me. Just when I am about to do something rash, He pulls through.  Wait on God.

Remember!

It does not matter where you are in life, God loves and values you.  He knows you more than anyone else. He listens and cares and He provides. He might not carry on a conversation like a human, but you can also know your best kept secrets and issues are safe with Him. He values our relationship and loves us through it all.

Even when you feel distant from God, remember and choose to know He is there every step of the way. Do not give up. Continue to have faith and wait for answers.

You are worth something or you would not be here.  Let no person tell you otherwise. Choose to hold your head up high regardless of your circumstance.  We are all worthy and valuable. Too many times, people think they are above and beyond others. This is the most untrue and selfish concept they could ever possibly have.  You can be working in a corporate office or the local hamburger joint and you are viewed the same by God. Do not let humans destroy your self image.

Think before you speak. You do not want others to feel the way you do. You want to strive to show love and compassion. Be there when people need you. Let them gain your trust. When someone tells you something, keep it to yourself and pray for them.

Make a choice to forgive those who have hurt you.  You do not have to forget. You do not have to seek out the relationship you had once before.  You can show forgiveness and limitations all at the same time. Do not gossip or hold a grudge.  Set yourself free from the negative emotions they have caused. Refuse to allow it to affect your life or who you are.  Do not depend on man for solutions, depend on God.

Remember this verse, these words come from Jesus in the flesh while He was here on Earth.   God feeds and cares for the animals of this earth. You are worth far more to Him than they are.  He knows every hair that is on your head. He will not allow suffering to come to you as long as you are obeying His commands. God has a plan in mind and will send helpers your way if you need them.  It is amazing the love you will feel from people you never expected would care. God calls His people in our times of need and sends them our way. Listen for God’s calling, you may be led to help others too.   Do not pass that up.

Never forget you are worthy and valuable. Hold your head up high and press forward regardless of what you face. Strive to be all you can be and be proud of who you are. Know and grow with God. May God bless you all.
