Even though we are in a technological age, I think it is still important to keep hard copies and journals. I like having a collection of books in the house that have touched me. Having these things around are a great reference for our children and family members in the future as well.
I take notes during sermons I listen to and with Bible studies I am involved in. Some of these studies really touch my heart. Those are the things I add in to my journal.
I also enjoy adding in some of my favorite Bible verses. I like writing about blessings that have occurred in my life. I jot down my thoughts and ideas as well.
By doing this, I can look back and see how I have grown. I can also refer back to the messages that have touched me and study them again as I desire. Lastly, I like having them for my children to read in the future.
My grandmother was very involved in the Bible. She constantly kept notes of her studies. These notes have been valuable to my mother in her walk with Christ.
I think it is important we leave a mark even when we are gone. Having a nice journal to pass down is always treasured and useful.
Consider using a journal in your walk with God. You will appreciate it and so will others.
